Donating a Vehicle to the Ft. Worth Can! Academy

On 31 December 2004, the Ft. Worth Can! Academy picked up the 1996 E-150 Hi-Top Conversion Van that we donated to this organization.
Here we are preparing the van for towing. The van was fully functional - not sure why the preferred method of transport is via a service.

Loading the Van on the Truck

These rigs always amaze me. I know from experience how heavy these vans are. In fact, I broke a jack trying to change a tire on this van a few years ago - had to use a hydraulic lift. Yet this machine pulled the van onto its bed like it was nothing. The replacement vehicle, another Hi-Top Conversion Van, is visible at the right center of the picture.
Farewell to an Old Friend

So we say goodbye to an old friend. This van was the best vehicle I have ever owned from a reliability point of view. Lots of family
memories were made during the 150,000 miles we put on the van over a seven year period. But if the proceeds from the
sale of the van can give some folks a second chance at life, then we are grateful to be part of the process.
