The Light the Night (LTN) blood cancer awareness and fundraising walk was held the evening of Sunday, 15 October 06 at
Sundance Square in Ft. Worth, about the same time in October as the 2005 walk and the 2004 walk.
The company for which I work, EFW, is a major sponsor of LTN.
This year, Kathy and Aimee walked with me. Last year, Aimee did not walk, but Aric did.
In 2004, both Aimee and Aric joined Kathy and me in walking for a cure.
It rained this evening, but that did not stop several EFW folks from cuttin' loose with the Hoola Hoop.
Aimee enjoyed the bubble wands, which can also be used to make waffles or swat flies.
Jack, our usual photographer, opted this year to provide surveillance services, in the Spirit of Sherlock Holmes.
A highlight of the evening was seeing Kylie again. I had not been in her presence since late March 2005,
just nine days before surgery in Houston to remove her brain tumor.
I always look forward to seeing Etty at LTN, even in the rain.
We are both survivors, so we both wear green LTN shirts and carry white LTN balloons.
Darkness falls upon the land, signaling the official start of the walk.
