Aimee (in the tan jacket) and the 5th grade class at Argyle visited NASA on Friday 04 March 2005. I was one of 12 parents invited to attend the event and ride on the buses with the kids. (My name was drawn at random). Mr. Stein and I were assigned 10 students - we all wore dark green shirts for easy identification. Everyone left at 6:45 am from Argyle Elementary School and returned about 12 midnight. 10 hours on the road with a bus load of energetic 5th graders presents a unique set of challenges! I was also responsible to ensure that everyone got a squirt of Germ-X antibacterial lotion on their hands when they emerged from the bathroom. I must have dispensed 200 or more "shots" of this soap during the trip. |
