![]() 22 July 07: Aric and the family head to Cross Timbers Community Church for Aric's baptism, to publically affirm his belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Aric accepted Christ a couple of years ago, but we waited to baptize him until now, so he would always remember this day of celebration. We had taken this same approach more than three years ago, when Austin, Aimee and Aaron were baptized. Baptism is one of only two church ordinances (the other being Communion). Not to be taken lightly, this day was nevertheless filled with joy and laughter. Aric's baptism demonstrates to the world that he has the big picture. What about you? |

![]() Baptism is a picture of what Jesus has done for us. We are submerged even as Christ was buried. We emerge from the water even as He rose from the grave. We identify with Him and His work in a public setting, even as the Lamb of God was Himself baptized by John. We do not baptize to be saved from hell. We baptize because we are heaven-bound, because our sins have been washed away. Those who are in Christ are forgiven, made righteous in God's sight by the acceptance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross in our place. |
