After arriving at the Park and assembling behind the Trinity Park Shelter House, the next order of business was the opening ceremony. Deana bids us welcome and outlines the day's events.
Deana then handed the program over to Megan Henderson, co-host of Good Day on KDFW Fox 4, who related the significance of this event from her perspective. Her address was well-received and we appreciate her support.
Ft. Worth City Council member Danny Scarth then read a proclaimation from the city for this event - like Deana and Megan,
Mr. Scarth's words were well-chosen, well-spoken and well-received.
Marshall Kaitlyn addressed the crowd, thanking all in attendance.
Kaitlyn's remark "I don't know when the walk will start!" drew a hearty laugh from everyone,
as by now we were ready to get on with the walk.
